Our Mission
The Corporation’s global mission is to create and facilitate synergies between industry, academia, government and individuals to empower disadvantaged communities through sustainable development projects, technology, and knowledge sharing with the purpose of increasing the availability of safe drinking water, adequate sanitation, and related education.
Our Objectives
- Engage industry, academia, other NGO’s and foundations, governments and individuals to support sustainable development projects (water, sanitation, education) through funding, knowledge sharing and technological advances.
- Provide a consortium where experienced retirees, professors, undergraduate and graduate-level students gain access to, conduct research for ,and work directly with industry assisting in the design, implementation and sustenance of philanthropic water, sanitation and related education initiatives in a mutually beneficially relationship.
- Mobilize volunteer members through the creation of IHSAN Regional Affiliates worldwide. Those members will identify and implement sustainable development projects within their respective geographic areas.
- Partner with Industry to identify, fund and carry out social responsibility projects.
- While IHSAN Regional Affiliates worldwide will engage local governments, industries and individuals to identify and fund local projects, the IHSAN mother organization (USA) will augment locally raised funds and provide central accounting, transparency, auditing and knowledge on a global basis.
- Regularly share project results, knowledge, and technology
with all global IHSAN Regional Affiliates and members to ensure continued
success.
- Seek partnerships and knowledge sharing with other NGO's, foundations, and entities with similar goals and objectives.
- Regularly share project results, knowledge, and technology with all global IHSAN Regional Affiliates to ensure continued success.
- Create a mechanism for industries to combine philanthropy with profit generation by:
a. facilitating industry’s socially responsible spending over a wider geographical area expanding the positive public image of each contributing industry;
b. Provide industry with inspired, trustworthy and credible IHSAN members who know local community needs and are willing to work on a volunteer basis. This will provide market-based, cost effective solutions, competitive advantages, and an entry strategy into developing markets where the sustainable humanitarian projects will be implemented;
c. allow industry employees and students to volunteer with IHSAN in local communities keeping them engaged and inspired. This will increase their productivity and at the same time improve the industry’s public image;
d. to engage in other activities related to water, sanitation and education initiatives.
